Please help.... 4x4 wont work?

what im talking about is a (1999 polaris sportsman 500 4x4 atv) now i have read tons of things about how the 4x4 light turns on but it wont engage inside the hubs and to clean the hubs and make shure there is enough fluid in hubs but my problem is that ((( im not getting any power to the 4x4 Switch... and no im not saying from the Switch i mean to the Switch which makes me think its electrical problems but the bike only has 95hrs on it which is low for a 2009, and i have a 1999 so its hardly used... now the only reason i have any doughts that its not electrical is because i read were another guy was having the same problem with no power to the switch and all he did was cleaned hubs really good and put new fluid in and then it worked but i dint see how that could cause the 4x4 light and Switch to not be getting power than u clean the hubs and all of a sudden u have power to a Switch located on the handel bars))) it just doesn't seem right and i don't wanna jump into any big project before i have me info... please help if u have a good amount of info on the situation please tell but also email me at mrmcstudly313@yahoo.com and we can talk more... thanks a lot to anyone that can help or even makes an effort to help
