Atv wont stay on by itself?

I have a 2008 sportsman 500 and it was working really good before but then the next day when i started it it turns off right away. I have to keep pressing the gas for it to stay on. It still has all its power and speed but not sure why it wont stay on by itself. Please tell me if you might know whats wrong. Thanks
