Is this the schools fault my son is injured???? or is he to blame?

DEFINETLY talk to the school! They threatened him that if he didn't run, despite knowing his injury, that he would get detention. That there is not right. In fact, you could sue them if you want. It is their fault that he is injured. If I were you, I'd get that coach(s) fired.
